Founding Partner
H. E. "Sonny" Cauthen, Jr., is a founding partner of Cauthen Forbes & Williams. As former president and CEO of Cauthen & Associates federal government relations practice, he has maintained a presence in Washington for the past 15 years. Mr. Cauthen’s expertise in electricity industry regulation and his relationships with industry leaders are the foundation for the energy policy lobby of the new firm.
Jeffrey A. Forbes
Founding Partner
Founding partner Jeff Forbes is a twenty-year veteran of political campaigns at every level. Mr. Forbes began his involvement in politics in 1987 on then Senator Al Gore’s 1988 Presidential bid. Since that time, he has worked with and coordinated more than nine different campaigns, ranging from municipal candidates to the US Congress as well as the White House.
Zachary W. Williams
Founding Partner
Zachary W. Williams is a founding partner of Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Before beginning the new firm, Mr. Williams was the Managing Director of Cauthen and Associates in Washington, D.C. At Cauthen and Associates Zachary was responsible for coordinating client needs with various state and national issues.
W. Ryan Welch
Senior Vice President
W. Ryan Welch is a Senior Vice President at Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Welch served on the staff of United States Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), ranking member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and ranking member on the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee. Mr. Welch carries particular expertise in issues surrounding the Appropriations Committee.
Elizabeth L. Greer
Senior Vice President
Libby Greer is a Senior Vice President of Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Before joining the firm, Ms. Greer served nearly eight years as Chief of Staff to Congressman Allen Boyd (D, FL-2). In that capacity, she directed the legislative and political operations for Boyd, including staff in Washington, DC and Florida. Additionally, she implemented Congressman Boyd’s work as Co-Chairman for Administration of the Blue Dog Coalition in the 110th Congress, directing a group of 47 fiscally conservative Democrats.
George Cooper
Senior Vice President
George Cooper is a Senior Vice President at Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Prior to joining CFW, Mr. Cooper served as the President and CEO of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, a groundbreaking coalition of the nation’s leading hunting, fishing and conservation organizations. Mr. Cooper also worked at CNN for ten years where he was a Senior Producer for public affairs shows including “Evans and Novak,” “Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer,” and “Reliable Sources” and on the White House and Capitol Hill beats.
Jerry J. Driscoll
Senior Vice President
Jerry “Jay” Driscoll is a Senior Vice President of Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Driscoll served as Director of Government Affairs at CTIA – The Wireless Association® where he was the group’s chief Congressional lobbyist. Prior to joining CTIA, Mr. Driscoll was a Legislative Assistant for Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.). He also served as an economist for the Montana Public Service Commission, Chief of Staff to the Minority Leader of the Montana House of Representatives, and Regional Political Director for the Montana Democratic Party.
Natalie Buce
Director of Fundraising and Operations
Natalie Buce is a Director of Fundraising and Operations at Cauthen Forbes & Williams. In this capacity, Ms. Buce manages all fundraising activities; working with its principles to develop and maintain a dynamic list of potential fundraising efforts that integrates into the firm’s overall philosophy and goals. Additionally, Ms. Buce provides operations support to the firm by managing client contracts, accounting inputs and filing the firm’s quarterly reports. Ms. Buce also serves as Senior Executive Assistant to founding partner, Jeffrey Forbes.
Christina Culver
Legislative Policy Analyst
Christina Culver is a Legislative Policy Analyst at Cauthen Forbes & Williams. Ms. Culver works with the firm’s partners and clients to help keep them fully informed of news and information from Washington’s fast-paced policymaking circles. Her in-depth research support is provided in a variety of areas including legislation background, policy analysis, and grant assistance. Ms. Culver is responsible for producing a daily intra-office press publication summarizing issues relevant to clients, and tracking the outcomes of congressional hearings and events that she and other staff attend.
